The Role

Cpl UK Healthcare are currently recruiting for a Lead Occupational Therapist, working within a specialist hospital dedicated to supporting women with complex mental health needs, including personality disorders.

Details

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Occupational Therapist to take on a leadership role within a specialist inpatient mental health service. You will lead the occupational therapy provision, delivering high-quality, recovery-focused interventions while supporting the development of the wider therapy service. Working closely with the multidisciplinary team, you will help empower patients to develop the skills and confidence needed for greater independence and successful recovery.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Occupational Therapy service within the hospital
  • Manage a specialist caseload of women with complex mental health needs, including personality disorders
  • Complete comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and develop person-centred treatment plans
  • Deliver evidence-based individual and group occupational therapy interventions
  • Promote recovery, independence, and meaningful engagement in daily activities
  • Provide clinical leadership, supervision, and support to junior therapy staff
  • Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and the wider multidisciplinary team
  • Contribute to care planning, risk assessments, CPA reviews, and clinical reports
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and support ongoing service development

Requirements

  • HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist
  • Significant post-registration experience within mental health services
  • Experience working with individuals with complex mental health needs and/or personality disorders
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience is desirable
  • Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and organisational skills
  • Passion for delivering recovery-focused, person-centred care
