PERMANENT/PART TIME

The Perth and Kinross Occupational Therapy Service has an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Occupational Therapist to join our enthusiastic multidisciplinary team in the South Perthshire locality. The base for this post is St Margaret’s Community Hospital. This post will enhance the multidisciplinary team to deliver inpatient and community rehabilitation and support the development of new models of care with an integrated approach.

The team is looking for an Occupational Therapist who is motivated to be part of developing an innovative and forward-looking service and will promote the value of Occupational Therapy, providing high-quality assessment and rehabilitation. The successful candidate will have relevant experience working as an Occupational Therapist within physical rehabilitation, an understanding of the principles of health and social care integration, and have the skills to support the team to progress service development. They will be passionate about providing excellent person-centered treatment and care, and value honest and open communication.

Perth and Kinross Occupational Therapy Service provides excellent formal and informal supervision, actively supports individual development through performance development review and learning plans, provides a framework for encouraging CPD, and promotes innovative practice.

In line with the evidence base and the strategic direction of NHS Tayside, the Allied Health Professions will be moving towards 7-day working. This is for improved outcomes and to maximize a person-centered equitable approach to care. Therefore, all new contracts for AHP staff will be for a 5 out of 7-day service/rota to enable the service to be ready to move to a safe and effective 7-day service.

Requirements

Applicants must be registered with HCPC.

Due to the rural location of this post, applicants are encouraged to take the opportunity of an informal visit to familiarize themselves with South Perthshire and find out more about the post.
