Abingdon Emergency Multidisciplinary Unit (Abingdon EMU)
The Abingdon Emergency Multidisciplinary Unit (Abingdon EMU) provides Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) to patients in the community. We are a Multidisciplinary (MDT) consisting of doctors, nurses, paramedics, physios and occupational therapists aiming to provide holistic care to medically unwell patients in the community and avoid hospital admission.
We Are Looking for an Occupational Therapist
We are looking for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our team and help develop our service.
This role is based within an ambulatory unit, as well as working with inpatients for assessment of ongoing rehabilitation and discharge planning.
Job Details
This is a full-time or part-time role with a minimum of 28.5 hrs per week, working shifts including some weekend working.
Responsibilities
- To work autonomously as an Occupational Therapist as part of an MDT to provide holistic SDEC care to unwell patients.
- To prioritise, assess, plan and implement patient-specific programmes of care, analysing patient needs and making judgements about best practice contributing to the assessment and treatment of patients to prevent hospital admission.
- To provide leadership for junior/non-registered staff as appropriate to the post, through supervision and appraisal, delegating responsibilities as appropriate.
- To manage own caseload.
