Occupational Therapist Opportunity at Barnet Council
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist to join Barnet Council's award-winning Adult Early Intervention Team (AEIT). Working within a multidisciplinary team alongside Social Workers and Adult Early Intervention Officers, you'll support residents to maximise independence through strengths-based practice, enabling interventions, manual handling assessments, and adaptation recommendations.
This is a highly supportive team with excellent OT leadership, regular CPD opportunities, and a strong focus on professional development. The role offers the chance to work closely with health partners, contribute to service improvement, and develop skills across a varied adult social care caseload.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete strengths-based Occupational Therapy assessments
- Support residents to maintain independence and wellbeing
- Undertake manual handling and functional assessments
- Recommend equipment, adaptations, and enabling interventions
- Work collaboratively with health and social care professionals
- Contribute to service development and best practice initiatives
- Maintain accurate case records and assessments

Requirements
- HCPC Registered Occupational Therapist
- Adult Social Care or Community OT experience
- Knowledge of manual handling, equipment, and adaptations
- Strong assessment and communication skills
- Ability to manage a varied caseload
Hybrid working available: 4 days remote, 1 day office-based (Colindale, London)
