Job Opportunity at Runnymede and Spelthorne Neighbourhood Mental Health Teams

An excellent opportunity has arisen to come and join our dynamic Runnymede and Spelthorne Neighbourhood Mental Health teams in Chertsey.

About the Role

As an Occupational Therapist within the team, you will offer innovative ways of delivering occupational therapy within the new Neighbourhood Model. The post will include delivering both individual and group occupational therapy interventions offering a clear care pathway. These interventions include:

  • Occupation Matters Programme: A 20-week group which utilizes Lifestyle Redesign principles.
  • Recovery through Occupation: A 6-week group which uses the Re-Motivation process to improve an individual's motivation and social skills.
  • Memory Matters
  • Individual occupational therapy
  • Comprehensive occupational therapy assessments

We use the Model of Human Occupation to guide all our occupational therapy assessments and interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Be professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of clinical work and care.
  • Maintain high standards of care in all areas of practice in accordance with the HCPC Code of Conduct, professional guidelines, and Trust Policies and Procedures.
  • Act within the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act (2005).
  • Be aware of and implement Safeguarding Adult and Child Protection Policies, Procedures, and legislation.
  • Act as practice assessor/supervisor/teacher in teaching, facilitating, and supporting pre-registration students and junior personnel and to participate in the audit of educational placements, to participate in new staff induction.
  • Engage in your own CPD and ensure that you have the knowledge and skills to deliver high-quality occupational therapy assessments and interventions.
  • Share your knowledge and skills within the team to support others' learning.
  • Document assessments, interventions, evaluations, and progress notes in a clear, timely, and professional manner, in line with Trust policy.
  • Actively engage in your own and others supervision and appraisal.
  • Ensure confidentiality in line with the Trust’s policies and procedures.
  • Represent the profession in the multidisciplinary team.
  • Contribute to a healthy and safe working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations and Trust policies.
