Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist with strong experience in equipment and adaptations?

Islington Council is looking for 2 Occupational Therapists to join its growing service, supporting residents to maintain independence, improve wellbeing and access the right interventions at the right time.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within an innovative Health and Care environment, using your specialist OT skills to provide practical, person-centred solutions that make a genuine difference to residents' everyday lives.

What will your responsibilities be?

As an Occupational Therapist, you will:

  • Complete comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments and interventions.
  • Assess residents' functional needs and identify appropriate equipment and adaptations.
  • Recommend practical solutions to promote independence, safety and wellbeing.
  • Apply a strengths-based, person-centred approach to assessment and care planning.
  • Work in line with the Care Act 2014, supporting early intervention and prevention.
  • Identify residents who may benefit from preventative interventions.
  • Work collaboratively with Health, Social Care and wider multidisciplinary teams.
  • Apply service criteria and make appropriate decisions around case closure and transfer.
  • Support the development of effective pathways and joined-up solutions.
  • Contribute to service development, quality assurance and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain high standards of professional conduct, performance and ethics.

Qualifications & Experience:

We’re looking for Occupational Therapists who have:

  • Current HCPC registration.
  • Strong post-qualified Occupational Therapy experience.
  • Proven experience assessing and recommending equipment and adaptations.
  • Experience working with adults, older people and/or people with disabilities.
  • Knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and Adult Social Care practice.
  • Experience undertaking holistic, strengths-based assessments.
  • The ability to identify practical solutions that promote independence and reduce risk.
  • Excellent communication and multidisciplinary working skills.
  • The confidence to manage your own caseload and make professional.
