Occupational Therapist
Peterhouse School, Southport
Full time, term-time only
Fixed Term (Up to 12 months)
£32,073 - £48,117 Per Annum (depending On Experience)
Peterhouse School is a non-maintained specialist school for children and young people who have a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Condition, aged 5 - 19.
Peterhouse School is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team and play a key role in supporting our pupils to develop their independence, wellbeing and quality of life.
This is an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapist who understands the importance of a sensory-informed approach and is committed to putting the individual needs of autistic pupils at the heart of their practice.
About The Role
As our Occupational Therapist, you will work collaboratively with pupils, families, class teams, and external professionals to identify and address pupils' sensory, physical, emotional and self-care needs.

- You will work primarily within the classroom environment, embedding occupational therapy strategies naturally into pupils' daily routines and learning.
- You will also have the flexibility to provide individual or small-group interventions where appropriate.
Previous experience of working with young people, Autism Spectrum Conditions and sensory needs are welcomed but not essential. Opportunities for further training will be given. The successful candidate will hold a recognised Occupational Therapy degree level qualification and be a registered member of Health Professions Council. Newly qualified OTs are welcome to apply.
You must be a resilient and flexible team member with good communication skills who can think creatively and be proactive in your approach.
Given the nature of this role, successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure, the cost of which will be met by Autism Initiatives.
