An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time band 6 rotational post across stroke and neurology. The post will rotate over the Acute Stroke Unit (Derriford Hospital), Stroke Rehabilitation Unit (Mount Gould Hospital), Neurosurgery/ICU (Derriford Hospital), Community Neuro Rehabilitation Team (Livewell South West) and Plym Neuro Rehabilitation Unit (Livewell South West). The post holder will require experience in the specialty of Stroke & Neurology. We are looking for a flexible, enthusiastic and motivated individual who will rotate across the acute and community services.
Responsibilities
- Clinical Duties: Carrying out occupational therapy assessments, treatment and management of stroke and neurological patients, as part of the MDT in inpatient settings and in the community.
- Team Management: Assisting the Team Leader in the day-to-day management of the wider team, providing support, supervision and allocation of work to the Band 5 OTs, and Technical Instructors.
- Supervision and Appraisal: Undertaking appraisal and clinical supervision of specified staff within the team.
- Clinical Governance and Teaching: Having a delegated remit of Clinical Governance and teaching activities to undertake and develop within the team.

Requirements
- Experience in the specialty of Stroke & Neurology.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Good inter-personal skills and the ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- A flexible approach and willingness to support the Team Lead to deliver a specialist occupational therapy service.
- Professional and legal accountability for own actions and work delegated to assistant staff and students.
