Job Opportunity: Therapist in Assistive Technology Team
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced therapist (occupational or physio) to join the multi-disciplinary assistive technology team based within the TORT Centre at Ninewells Hospital. This is a full-time permanent position.
About the Role
The Assistive Technology Service provides long-term wheelchair and mobile seating solutions to people from across Tayside and is critical to supporting independent living and improving quality of life for people with mobility and postural needs.
Responsibilities
- Assess a patient for a wheelchair and postural support suitable for their needs.
- Review and advise on seating solutions in conjunction with the patient, carers, and other healthcare specialists.
- Hold a full clinical caseload and carry out appointments in various settings, including Acute facilities, out-patient clinics, specialist schools, care homes, and patient’s homes across Tayside.

Requirements
- Highly experienced as a therapist with evidence of recent practice either in the NHS or private healthcare.
- Experience within an assistive technology or postural specialisation is an advantage but training will be given in assistive technology to the appropriate candidate.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new skills.
- Ability to work closely with patients and carers and understand the complex needs of individuals.
- Ability to work within multi-disciplinary teams, including liaising with specialist rehabilitation engineers.
- Expectation to demonstrate the highest standards of patient care and healthcare practices.
- Awareness of practical Health and Safety and working within Quality Management Systems.
