This rewarding role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse range of needs, supporting people to maximise independence, achieve their personal goals, and live safely within their communities.
We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist who can bring a strengths-based, person-centred approach to assessment and intervention. You will be confident in undertaking functional assessments, recommending equipment and adaptations, supporting positive risk management, and working collaboratively with families and partner agencies to achieve the best outcomes for those we support.
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist who is passionate about supporting people to maximise their independence, wellbeing and quality of life. You will be committed to strengths-based practice and able to work collaboratively with individuals, families, carers and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
The successful candidate will:

- Have experience of completing occupational therapy assessments and developing person-centred solutions.
- Demonstrate knowledge of relevant legislation, policy and best practice within adult social care.
- Have experience of equipment provision, moving and handling assessments and, ideally, housing adaptations.
- Be confident working with complex situations, balancing positive risk-taking with safeguarding responsibilities.
- Possess excellent communication, organisational and record-keeping skills.
- Be able to manage competing priorities whilst delivering high-quality outcomes for citizens.
- Be committed to equality, diversity, inclusion and continuous professional development
About the job
As an Occupational Therapist within Adult Social Care, you will play a key role in helping adults, children and carers maintain or improve their independence. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing functional abilities and identifying opportunities to promote independence.
- Recommending and arranging the provision of equipment and assistive technology.
- Assessing for and recommending minor and major adaptations to people's homes.
- Delivering reablement programmes and supporting people to achieve their personal goals.
- Undertaking moving and handling assessments, including promoting single-handed care approaches where appropriate.
- Providing professional advice, guidance and support to individuals, carers and partner organisations.
- Participating in safeguarding activity and promoting the wellbeing and safety of vulnerable adults and children.
- Working collaboratively within multidisciplinary and multi-agency teams.
- Supporting the development of students, apprentices and colleagues where required.
- Maintaining accurate, professional records and contributing to service improvement.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
