Occupational Therapy Assistant
Pay: £13.50 per hour (salaried role)
Location: Based at Epinal Way Care Centre, with travel to other services as required
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Shifts: Shift-based rota over 7 days, including weekends and public holidays
Occupational therapy can make a real difference to a person’s independence, confidence and quality of life. As an Occupational Therapy Assistant with Rushcliffe Care Group, you will support the delivery of safe, effective and person-centred therapy, helping service users develop, regain and maintain the skills they need in everyday life.
About The Role
Working under the direction and supervision of a qualified Occupational Therapist, you will support therapeutic programmes designed to promote independence and improve everyday functioning.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Supporting delegated occupational therapy programmes within your assessed level of competence
- Assisting with mobility, transfers, functional training and activity programmes
- Supporting home visits where required
- Assisting with the safe use and installation of therapy equipment
- Monitoring service user progress and reporting any changes to the Occupational Therapist
- Maintaining clear and accurate records
- Working closely with the wider multidisciplinary team, families, carers and external professionals
- Adapting your communication and approach to meet individual service user needs
- Supporting appointments, administrative duties, equipment and stock
- Contributing to team meetings, training and service development
This role requires you to work safely within your level of competence and to follow the direction and supervision of the Occupational Therapist.

About You
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Healthcare experience to NVQ Level 2 or equivalent
- To be working towards Level 1 Occupational Therapy Assistant Competencies
- Knowledge of occupational therapy techniques and equipment
- The ability to follow delegated therapeutic programmes safely and effectively
- Good communication, organisational and record-keeping skills
- The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- A positive, professional and compassionate approach
- A willingness to complete training and continue your professional development
- The physical ability to support mobility, transfers and the safe use of equipment
- A commitment to confidentiality, safeguarding and following Rushcliffe Care Group policies and procedures
- A current driving licence where driving is required as part of the role
