Arcadis Account Manager Role

Role Description

This role combines account growth across existing and target clients, client relationship management and complex project delivery within the Occupiers and Real Estate markets. It involves managing multidisciplinary project teams and the delivery of commercial performance and project outcomes.

Account growth and client leadership

The role develops account plans, manages pursuits and pipelines, tailors value propositions, and builds relationships across client organisations and Arcadis to generate growth, cross-selling, and trusted-partner status.

Complex project delivery

The position leads multidisciplinary teams, identifies and translates objectives into delivery plans, manages budgets and schedules, assures contractual compliance, and provides strategic advice while maintaining stakeholder alignment and client satisfaction.

Scale and qualifications

Responsibilities include managing multiple medium-sized accounts, including clients contributing approximately £1 million to £2 million in annual net revenue, personally delivering £1 million to £2 million in gross revenue growth and overseeing projects typically valued at £100 million or more. The role requires complex project experience, team leadership, executive relationship management, a bachelor’s degree or equivalent and a relevant professional qualification or chartered status.

Role Accountabilities

  • Develop and implement account plans for varying accounts in line with Arcadis’s strategy to drive growth
  • Develop and grow new and existing accounts to meet or exceed revenue and profitability targets
  • Manage pursuits, contribute to bid/no-bid decisions with knowledge and context and prepare proposals
  • Work collaboratively to manage the targeting and tailoring of Arcadis value propositions into commercially viable propositions for the account, demonstrating value-creating outcomes for the client
  • Manage the pipeline to ensure an optimal flow of pursuits to achieve set targets
  • Develop relationships throughout Arcadis to foster cooperation and to maximise opportunities to cross-sell
  • Lead project or operational teams, setting objectives, managing performance and ensuring that staff have the necessary skills to deliver the project objectives
  • Translate client objectives into operational financial targets, producing clearly defined business cases, plans and schedules for projects, and taking responsibility for meeting the profit and budgetary targets of the projects
  • Lead the implementation of complex projects, managing multi-disciplinary teams and working to mid-long term timescales to ensure delivery standards meet expectations
  • Assure compliance with contracts in terms of project delivery parameters and scope of service
  • Manage relationships with key internal stakeholders in order to identify opportunities for improved efficiencies and collaboration within projects to ensure commercial viability and customer satisfaction
  • Act as a technical expert within own projects, providing strategic advice in order to support successful delivery in line with client objectives
  • Defines and executes the account plan for multiple medium-sized accounts for clients that contribute £1m - £2m per year in net revenue for Arcadis
  • Personally delivers gross revenue growth of £1m - £2m
  • Leads accounts for clients that may operate in more than one Arcadis sector
  • Manages relationships at executive level
  • Connects the client account with the wider sector community
  • Responsible for establishing project delivery plans and appropriate control mechanisms to assure successful delivery
  • Responsible for performance management of multiple projects
  • Coaches and mentors more junior Account Manager
