Location: Rainham, Essex
Salary: A GBP 31,000:A GBP 36,000 per annum, depending on experience
Position: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm
Start Date: ASAP
About The Role
Our client, a leading international freight forwarding and supply chain organisation, is seeking an experienced Ocean Import Customer Services Coordinator to join its busy team in Rainham.

You will play a key role in coordinating ocean import shipments and acting as the main point of contact for customers, ensuring every movement is handled accurately, efficiently and professionally.
What You'll Do
- Manage ocean import container movements, ensuring shipments are handled accurately and efficiently.
- Coordinate FCL and LCL import shipments.
- Arrange customs clearance, haulage and other associated services.
- Act as the main point of contact for customers and respond promptly to operational enquiries.
- Provide customers with accurate shipment information and regular updates.
- Liaise with internal departments, shipping lines, hauliers and other service providers.
- Escalate operational issues to colleagues or management when required.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all information is entered correctly onto internal systems.
- Deliver consistently high standards of customer service.
- Ensure shipments are managed efficiently and within agreed timescales.

What We're Looking For
- Previous experience within the logistics or freight forwarding sector is essential.
- Ocean freight forwarding or ocean import experience is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of FCL and LCL import operations.
- An understanding of customs clearance and haulage arrangements.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong administration skills and attention to detail.
- A proactive, organised and flexible approach.
- The ability to prioritise a busy workload and work effectively under pressure.
- Basic Microsoft Office and general IT skills.
- Experience using CargoWise would be particularly advantageous.
