Please note we are looking for partners to work with us on a bid, if successful there will be a number of weeks work delivering this project for a prestigious client.

Contract: 16 weeks

We are looking for an experienced Organisational Development / HR Specialist to join a short-term digital transformation engagement with a UK organisation.

Working as part of a small, collaborative transformation team, you will assess the organisation’s current capability, structures, roles, skills, culture and ways of working, identifying the people and organisational changes required to support its future digital strategy.

This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can carry out organisational discovery and evidence gathering, while also operating strategically and presenting clear recommendations to senior stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review current organisational structures, roles, skills and ways of working.
  • Assess workforce capability, role clarity and alignment of responsibilities.
  • Apply recognised organisational assessment methodologies and maturity frameworks.
  • Conduct interviews and workshops across IT, digital and the wider organisation.
  • Assess existing skills and capability-development programmes.
  • Identify gaps in skills, capacity and capability required to support future digital ambitions.
  • Review governance, decision-making and accountability structures.
  • Make recommendations around role design, team structures and workforce development.
  • Help define an effective future-state operating model.
  • Assess organisational culture, behaviours and cross-functional working.
  • Identify barriers to successful digital transformation.
  • Recommend practical interventions to improve organisational readiness and digital ways of working.
  • Review Digital & IT strategy from an organisational and people perspective.
  • Identify people-related risks, gaps and dependencies.
  • Contribute to a sequenced transformation roadmap covering people, capability and culture.
  • Present findings and recommendations clearly to senior and executive stakeholders.

Experience Required

  • Significant Organisational Development, HR or people-centred transformation experience.
  • Strong organisation design and operating model experience.
  • Experience undertaking skills and capability assessments.
  • Experience developing workforce capability and upskilling plans.
  • Understanding of digital-era roles, skills and operating models.
  • Experience using recognised organisational assessment methodologies and maturity frameworks.
  • Experience of learning, development or capability-uplift programmes.
  • Experience of organisational and cultural change.
  • Strong workshop, interview and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to combine detailed evidence gathering with strategic thinking.
  • Strong senior stakeholder communication and presentation skills.
  • Public-sector or regulated-environment experience would be advantageous.
