About the Role
Terumo Aortic are looking for an OEM Engineer to join our team and play a key role in supporting the planning and delivery of production processes. The successful candidate will help ensure sales forecasts are achieved by assisting with the transfer and validation of new products, processes, and equipment into manufacturing. Throughout your work, you will maintain a strong focus on quality and understand how your contribution supports the achievement of our quality objectives.
Key Duties
- Liaise with OEM customer on specification, prototyping, design, development, and introduction of new OEM products into manufacturing, in accordance with OEM and ECO procedures.
- Liaise with all relevant departments on the transfer of new OEM products into manufacturing and ensure that all the appropriate specifications and packaging materials are available.
- Review production planning schedule to ensure adequate hours are available and monitor schedule on an ongoing basis.
- Assist in planning of equipment and labor requirements to ensure sales forecast is achieved.
- Support OEM customers with packaging queries and issues.
- Update and maintain OEM documentation.
- Improve OEM packaging and change processes.
- Validate equipment and processes within manufacturing.
- Assist OEM customers in the development of new processes, equipment, and products to ensure they are fit for purpose.
- Review and update BOMs and routings.

Qualifications & Experience

- Minimum HND or equivalent in relevant engineering discipline.
- Experience using a technical drawing CAD package (SolidWorks/AutoCAD) is preferred.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Clear communication skills.
- Adept at handling multiple projects.
- Strong team-working abilities.
- Relevant previous experience in a high-quality manufacturing environment.
- Thorough knowledge of FMEA and DOE processes.
- Knowledge and ability to demonstrate use of Lean techniques and methodology, including 5S, SMED, and VSM.
- Ability to understand current processes and use lean six sigma manufacturing tools to implement measurable improvements.
- Proven project management experience.
- History of goal achievement to tight timescales.
- Knowledge of production/process equipment.
