Turn complex infrastructure ideas into real-world projects

As an Off-Cycle Intern in Macquarie Capital’s Infrastructure Projects and Capital team, you will work alongside experienced colleagues on live opportunities, gaining hands-on experience across project development, commercial analysis, and technical due diligence.

What role will you play?

In this off-cycle internship, you will support the origination, development, and execution of infrastructure projects across a range of sectors. Working closely with senior team members and colleagues across the Infrastructure Projects and Capital team, you will help assess project scope, delivery models, procurement requirements, risk allocation, and adviser inputs to support clear, informed decision-making.

Your work will include:

  • Reviewing technical and procurement materials
  • Contributing to bid and investment committee materials
  • Undertaking market and project research
  • Coordinating inputs from contractors, operators, technical advisers, legal advisers, and other project partners

Through exposure to live opportunities, you will build skills at the intersection of commercial analysis, technical due diligence, and infrastructure investing, while learning how complex project information is translated into financeable and investable structures.

What You Offer

  • Experience in an infrastructure-related field, with an interest in developing a career in infrastructure investing, project development, or project finance.
  • A strong interest in how major infrastructure projects are designed, procured, financed, built, and operated.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex project information and turn it into clear, practical outputs.
  • An interest in technical and commercial due diligence, including project scope, construction, and operating risks, procurement requirements, stakeholder interfaces, and adviser workstreams.
  • Strong written communication skills, with confidence preparing summaries, tracking actions, reviewing documentation, and supporting bid or investment committee materials.
