Description

Almond Environmental Consulting Ltd (AVEC) provides clients with surveys, sampling, bulk analysis, training, and consultancy advice. Our office is based in Shettleston Road in Glasgow and has excellent commuting links.

The ideal candidate will exhibit high attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and have an ability to take initiative and prioritize daily tasks. A strong ability to take charge and meet deadlines will ensure your success in this multi-faceted role. A willingness to learn and evolve within the company is also desirable.

Role Description

The role will involve supporting asbestos consultants with administrative tasks within a UKAS accredited organization, including:

  • Booking in jobs from telephone / email / web enquiries
  • Booking in / scheduling work on shared calendar
  • Setting up jobs on various systems
  • Bookkeeping / PO creation on digital system (Xero)
  • Responding to emails from clients in a professional manner
  • Technical report reviewing (once qualified)
  • Sending reports to clients after reviewing
  • Updating spreadsheets with job milestones / tracking deadlines
  • Drafting quotes for jobs on accounting software
  • Marking up site plans on drawing software
  • Booking travel / trips away
  • Ensuring file organization based on office procedures
  • Booking in asbestos samples (must be over 18)
  • Development of promotional material for online marketing may be required
  • Providing ad hoc support around the office as needed

Qualifications / Experience

No formal qualifications required for office role but MUST be computer literate with up-to-date IT Skills

  • Must be proficient in Adobe, Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook
  • Be able to use different computer software for asbestos data entry
  • Knowledge of current Health & Safety Legislations and requirements is advantageous
  • Asbestos Awareness course desirable but not essential as this will be provided if selected
