Opportunity for Business Administration Apprentice

A great opportunity for someone interested in construction who wants to develop a career in an office-based, non-operational role. You’ll support a growing building and plant hire company, gaining experience in health & safety, business management, processes and documentation.

£17,680 a year

  • Construction site visits (own transport required)
  • Weekly internal and external reports for progress

What you'll learn

Course contents

Skilled in the use of multiple IT packages and systems relevant to the organisation in order to: write letters or emails, create proposals, perform financial processes, record and analyse data. Examples include MS Office or equivalent packages. Able to choose the most appropriate IT solution to suit the business problem. Able to update and review databases, record information and produce data analysis where required.

Produces accurate records and documents including: emails, letters, files, payments, reports and proposals. Makes recommendations for improvements and present solutions to management. Drafts correspondence, writes reports and able to review others' work. Maintains records and files, handles confidential information in compliance with the organisation's procedures. Coaches others in the processes required to complete these tasks.

Training schedule

The Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship is delivered by South Devon College through a combination of college-based training and workplace learning. The programme typically takes around 18 months at South Devon College and is designed to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to work effectively in a business administration role.

Desirable qualifications

  • GCSE in:
    • English (grade 4 or above)
    • Maths (grade 4 or above)

Other requirements

The role will be generally site based, working from one of our site offices alongside the director and or existing management team.

The candidate will be required to complete site visits to live construction sites both accompanied and unaccompanied.

The majority of the projects are in a remote location between Salcombe & Dartmouth.

The successful candidate will require a clean driving licence and own transport.
