This is an exciting opportunity to join our small, friendly team based at our office in the centre of Cheltenham, as an Office Assistant.

About us

Sherbornes is a niche solicitors practice, specialising in employment, corporate and commercial. Our Cheltenham office runs on the basis that happy people have great ideas. We support each other, in a friendly and professional environment.

Sherbornes is a well established firm which prides itself on offering straight talking advice. The team work with sole traders to larger household name PLCs across the country, as well as acting for employees.

Known for delivering pragmatic legal advice with a human element at its heart, the firm prides itself on cutting through complexity and offering solutions that make sense commercially.

About the role

The role is to support the Office Manager and lawyers across all departments to ensure the smooth running of the office.

  • Dealing with a variety of administrative duties including being the first point of contact on the telephone and when welcoming clients and visitors to the office.
  • Deal quickly and efficiently with emails and post.
  • Collating monthly time recording and uploading to the case management system.
  • Help manage the firm’s social media accounts.
  • Any ad-hoc assistance that the lawyers may require.
  • All other day to day administration duties that may arise in a busy office.

About you

You will be eager to support the team and join them in delivering excellent client care and service.

You will be conscientious and diligent, striving for accuracy all with the benefits of working with a small team who will support in your career development.

You will be a strong communicator and be able to build positive relationships both within the team and with our external clients and contacts.

Your skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, being proficient in English.
  • Reliable and honest, and able to demonstrate a high level of accuracy.
  • Dependable and able to follow instructions but equally be able to ask questions and ask for help.
  • Computer literate and able to use all Office applications.
  • Well organised, punctual with a good attention to detail.
  • Flexible attitude towards daily tasks with an ability to adapt to changing requirements.
  • Good, friendly and professional telephone manner.

Some office experience would be desirable but not essential. All training will be provided.

The details

  • Start date: ASAP
  • Hours: 9am to 5pm – Monday to Friday - Full Time
  • Salary: Dependant on age and experience
