Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Working any 5 days from 7 to accommodate the needs of the business. Start and finish times will vary to reflect operational hours during peak periods.
Work pattern: This is a 365-day operation therefore there will be the need to work weekends, evenings and bank holidays in accordance with business needs
Duration: Permanent/Full time
The Role
West Midlands Safari Park is currently sourcing candidates for the role of Event Sales Co-ordinator.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing inquiries, supporting sales processes, and ensuring excellent customer service for a variety of events, including corporate functions, weddings, parties, fun days, and public events.
The ideal candidate will bring an infectious energy to the Venues team and work in alignment with the Venues and Marketing teams to deliver successful events across our three venue locations, Spring Grove House, Tree Tops Pavilion and The Cellarz.
Above all, we’re looking for someone with a key interest and focus on all things HSE, who is self-motivated to achieve success and drive positive and proactive change through diligence and being able and willing to think ahead.
Key responsibilities:
- Respond to and manage all incoming enquiries related to venue bookings.
- Conduct follow-ups on enquiries to ensure customer satisfaction and facilitate sales.
- Raise or revise quotations based on client needs for various event types, including corporate events, weddings, parties, fun days, and public events.
- Utilize our booking system to update critical business information accurately.
- Follow all internal processes for billing and payments to ensure timely and accurate transactions.
- Plan and host venue appointments, showcasing our facilities and services to potential clients.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure all third-party requirements are met.
- Collaborate with the marketing department on promotions and advertising campaigns to attract new clients.
- Assist with the running of events to ensure everything operates smoothly.

About you
To be considered for interview your experience and skills set should demonstrate:
- 3 years’ experience in a similar role
- Previous experience in the hospitality or events industry is a plus.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in using booking systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Experience in sales administration or a similar role is preferred.
- Strong customer service orientation and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work under your own initiative is key with the adaptability for change in a fast-paced customer facing environment.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate they are/have:
- A team player willing to assist as required.
- Able to communicate positively and effectively.
- Structured, focused, thorough, approach with a high level of attention to detail.
- A positive 'can-do' attitude and be used to multi-tasking, balancing deadlines and workloads.
- Effective time management and IT skills

What we are
West Midlands Safari Park is an award-winning visitor attraction, located in Worcestershire in the heart of England. It is home to some of the world’s most beautiful and critically endangered species, with a four-mile safari drive-through, walk-through Discovery Trail, African Village and Lemur Woods, as well beautiful walking trails, allowing guests to experience up close encounters with hundreds of amazing animals. Guests can also choose from a wide range of catering and retail outlets, as well as enjoying a large amusement area with over 25 rides and attractions providing the ideal venue for family days out.
In 2021, the Park introduced Safari Lodges – luxury accommodation allowing guests to stay overnight for the first time. Guests can wake up to incredible sights of elephants, giraffes, rhinos, hippos and red pandas, or sleep just a ‘whisker’ away from lions, white lions, tigers and cheetahs.
In addition, the Park is home to three incredible venues – Spring Grove House, Treetops Pavillion and Cellarz, which play host to weddings, corporate events and social celebrations.
