OFFICE MANAGER

LOCATION

Home-based, with occasional visits to offices in the Hastings, East Sussex area

PAY

£17.95 to £20.51 per hour (£35,000 to £40,000 per annum full-time equivalent at 37.5 hours, paid pro rata)

CONTRACT

Permanent, part-time. 18 to 22.5 hours per week.

Director (client side)

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The role will suit an experienced office or HR administrator who is comfortable working independently from home, manages a varied workload without close supervision, and handles confidential employee information with care.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Office Manager provides day-to-day administrative and HR administration support, keeping employee records, onboarding paperwork, absence tracking and general office systems accurate and up to date.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage general office administration and HR administration.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential employee records, personnel files and company databases.
  • Support employee onboarding and offboarding, including preparing documentation.
  • Maintain holiday, absence and sickness records and provide information for payroll and management.
  • Prepare HR documents, reports and correspondence.
  • Manage emails, correspondence and telephone enquiries as a key point of contact for staff and external stakeholders.
  • Support managers and colleagues with day-to-day HR and personnel queries.
  • Coordinate staff meetings, including scheduling, agendas and minutes.
  • Administer DBS checks and mandatory training records.
  • Assist with purchasing, office supplies, suppliers and general office organisation.
  • Help develop and maintain efficient administrative processes and office systems.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Previous experience in office administration, office management, HR administration or a similar role.
  • Working knowledge of employee administration and general HR processes.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
  • Clear written and verbal communication.
  • Confidence with Microsoft Office and general business systems.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities and take a proactive approach.
  • Discretion and professionalism with confidential employee information.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle, for occasional office visits.
  • A stable home internet connection and a quiet workspace.
  • The right to work in the UK.
