Excellent Office Manager Position in Stockton!
This tremendous newly created Office Manager is a standalone role within my client's Stockton premises. Working alongside the Owner in the office, you will manage all documentation, bookkeeping, engineers’ diaries, and general office work. My client is a small SME who are going strength to strength, with a fantastic team of 5, they are excited to recruit an office manager to join their team and play a big role in the growth and maintenance of the business. The owner of this business is a very modern, kind, and polite gentleman who cares greatly about his staff.
WHAT IS IN IT FOR YOU?
- Annual base Salary of £35,000 to £40,000 depending on experience
- Office Location – Stockton – Highly accessible
- Monday to Friday working hours, 8am - 5pm, 40 hour working weeks.
- 28 days holiday leave, inclusive of bank holidays.

- SME, 5 people in business in total. Day to day, you will often be alone in the office with the Owner visiting regularly when he is not travelling.

- Bonus Scheme applicable, owner pays excellent bonuses if you win work or a project through your own network on socials etc. 5% of profits of a job.

THE BUSINESS
Our client specialises within the Technical Engineering sector. They continue to go strength to strength and are quickly building a fantastic reputation in the North East. Our client is a thriving SME who are growing at a super quick rate, they seek to appoint an office manager to oversee the running of the business day to day from their premises in Stockton. This is not your typical office manager position, this is genuinely a first-class opportunity.
THE ROLE
- General bookkeeping duties, this includes the tracking of quotes, invoicing, reconciliations, and purchase orders. My client operates on the platform XERO, so experience of this or SAGE would be essential for this role.
- Issuing quotations to customers and clients. My client is willing to train in this area and have specialist software to help with this.
- The tracking and dispensing of expenses. My client uses the system HUB DOC for expenses.
- Planning labour and planning engineers’ diaries and workload.
- Keeping on top of policies and ISO Accreditations.
- Holiday approvals and sickness tracking/monitoring.
- Tracking assets and keeping on top of what materials and assets are currently being used.
- Handling inbound work queries and potential new customer enquiries, being the first port of call.
- Ordering equipment, stationary, and materials for the field-based team to use and operate with.
- Keeping on top of customer satisfaction, ensuring you have clear oversight of each project from start to finish.
- If day to day activities are complete, the owner of this business also offers amazing bonus incentives to help with winning new work. If you are able to generate a conversation which leads to a new project win, you will be paid 5% of the project profits. Ie, this could be a simple linked in or social message.

THE PERSON
- XERO or SAGE experience is a requisite for this role and/or suitable financial/accounting experience.
- Able to commute to Stockton 5 times a week with no issues.
- Loyal, trustworthy, and diligent as you will have full and trusted access to everything within the business.
- Any experience of working within a field-based company (Travelling engineers) would be hugely suitable.
- Experience within engineering, technical manufacturing, or a technical field business would be very suitable.
- Any experience of working to ISO Accreditations would be a benefit.
- Being confident and comfortable working alone in the office at times is essential.
- Enjoys working in a smaller business and genuinely not just being a number.
