Office Manager | Growing Business | Birmingham City Centre - Office Based | Up to £35K | Full Time, Permanent
Gleeson Recruitment Group are delighted to be partnering with a highly successful and fast-growing professional services organisation to recruit an experienced Office Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious business with a strong people-focused culture. Working alongside an existing part-time Office Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the office, creating an exceptional workplace experience for employees and visitors alike. This role would suit a proactive, highly organised individual who enjoys variety, takes ownership of their workload, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
The Role
As Office Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing office operations, facilities management, supplier relationships, health and safety compliance, and employee support activities. Acting as a central point of contact across the business, you will ensure the office remains an efficient, safe, and engaging place to work.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Managing the day-to-day operations of the office environment.
- Acting as the first point of contact for visitors and external suppliers.
- Coordinating office facilities, maintenance, repairs, security, and cleaning services.
- Managing relationships with landlords, contractors, and service providers.
- Overseeing office supplies, stationery, equipment, and inventory management.
- Managing supplier contracts and ensuring cost-effective service delivery.
- Processing invoices, purchase orders, expenses, and monitoring office expenditure.
- Supporting employee onboarding, workspace allocation, and office access requirements.
- Coordinating office events, meetings, training sessions, and company activities.
- Arranging travel and accommodation bookings where required.
- Maintaining records relating to insurance, compliance, and workplace training.
- Supporting health and safety activities, including risk assessments, emergency procedures, and workplace inspections.
- Ensuring company policies and procedures are adhered to across the office environment.
- Providing administrative support to senior stakeholders when required.

The Candidate
The successful candidate will have previous experience within an Office Manager, Facilities Coordinator, Workplace Manager, or Senior Administration role and will be comfortable managing a broad range of operational responsibilities.
You will also possess:
- Proven experience managing office operations within a busy environment.
- Experience overseeing supplier relationships, contracts, and budgets.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage multiple demands.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach.
- High levels of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong Microsoft Office and Microsoft 365 skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
- The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
