An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Office Manager to join a growing, director-led architecture practice based in Trafford Park, Manchester.

The practice works across a range of sectors, with particular expertise in healthcare and public-sector projects, and has a strong focus on design quality, technical delivery, and client relationships. The team is currently around 10 people and this is a key role in helping to support the continued growth and smooth running of the studio.

This would suit someone who enjoys being the person who keeps an office organised, is comfortable working closely with senior people, and is happy to take ownership of a broad range of administrative and operational responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the day-to-day running and organisation of the Manchester studio
  • Managing meeting rooms, office facilities, and general office administration
  • Acting as a first point of contact, answering calls, and welcoming visitors
  • Coordinating meetings, appointments, and office requirements
  • Supporting HR administration and maintaining relevant records
  • Organising CPD sessions and internal studio activities
  • Assisting with invoicing and basic finance administration, working alongside external accountants
  • Supporting document control and maintaining accurate practice information
  • Providing general project and administrative support to the wider team
  • Helping to maintain and develop effective office processes as the practice grows
  • Supporting the practice's ISO systems and procedures

  • Previous experience as an Office Manager, Office Coordinator, Practice Coordinator, or similar role
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Confident communicator who enjoys working with people at all levels
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and taking ownership of tasks
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office
  • Experience within an architecture, design, engineering, construction, or professional services environment would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of ISO processes/accreditation would be beneficial
  • An understanding of project administration or document control would be useful
  • Professional, personable, and proactive, with a hands-on approach
  • Comfortable working in a small, collaborative team where the role is varied
