Tempo-PCE
Tempo-PCE is a small, family-owned specialist contractor working on technically demanding projects across the UK for major construction, infrastructure and utility companies. We are looking for an experienced Office & Operations Manager to become a key part of our team, working closely with our two Directors and Project Manager.
You will be working from our Wembley operations base, which includes a workshop and stores as well as a small office for the management team. It is a practical working environment rather than a front-of-house corporate office.
This is a varied and responsible role. Some days are steady, others are extremely busy, so we need someone who is organised, self-motivated and comfortable keeping track of several things at once. You will need to be able to make decisions, deal confidently with our site operatives and generally keep the operational side of the business running smoothly.
Our operatives often call in first thing to collect tools, equipment or information, which is why the normal working day is 7:00am–4:00pm.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
The Role
The position covers a broad mix of:
- Operations and project support – organising operatives, responding to changing site requirements, ordering materials, booking accommodation and working closely with the Project Manager.
- Health, safety and compliance – keeping records and documentation up to date, organising training, preparing for audits and helping maintain ConstructionLine, FORS and other company accreditations.
- Tools, equipment and vehicles – maintaining registers, arranging certification and calibration, and organising servicing and repairs.
- Company administration – supporting insurance renewals, licences, client systems such as BridgeStation and the general records needed to keep the business organised and compliant.
We are looking for someone who has previously worked in a responsible office/operations or project coordination role. Experience in construction, engineering, utilities or a similar practical industry would be useful, but the right attitude and ability to organise people and information are more important.
