Job Description

Job Title: Offshore Chemist

Job Location: Offshore from Aberdeen (Must be happy to travel to Aberdeen and be a UK resident)

Hours: Average 1 week offshore, 4 weeks off, repeated (offshore 73 days a year)

We're looking for an experienced Offshore Chemist to support laboratory operations across offshore client sites in the North Sea. You'll be responsible for sampling, analysis, testing, and reporting, ensuring high analytical standards and the safe, efficient running of offshore laboratory facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out routine sampling, analysis, and reporting.
  • Follow all laboratory methods, quality systems, and client procedures.
  • Ensure laboratory equipment is calibrated, maintained, and fit for use.
  • Investigate and help resolve equipment, sample, or method issues.
  • Maintain laboratory consumables and stock levels.
  • Identify opportunities to improve laboratory performance and efficiency.
  • Adhere to all HSE, quality, and client requirements.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Offshore oil & gas laboratory experience.
  • Valid BOSIET, MIST, and Offshore Medical.
  • HNC (or equivalent) in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline.
  • Strong understanding of laboratory quality systems and analytical techniques.

Desirable

  • Oil in Water analysis experience.
  • H₂S sampling experience.
  • SBT01 certification.
  • Experience with process chemistry and chemical optimisation.
