About the Role

Brunel are seeking an experienced Commissioning Supervisor (Mechanical) to support a major Carbon Capture & Storage (CCS) project comprising new onshore oil & gas production facilities, multiple pipeline installations, upgrades to existing terminals and offshore platforms, and the delivery of a new-build offshore platform including Jacket and Topside facilities.

Contract Details

  • 12-month contract with potential extension
  • 28/28 rotational schedule
  • Offshore assignment, North Wales
  • All-inclusive day rate (no additional expenses)
  • Inside IR35
  • Mobilisation expected before the end of 2026

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead commissioning activities for mechanical and process systems.
  • Coordinate testing, flushing, leak testing, preservation removal and start-up activities.
  • Supervise contractors, vendors and commissioning technicians offshore.
  • Ensure mechanical completion and commissioning dossiers are completed and signed off.
  • Support handover of systems to operations following successful commissioning.
  • Coordinate interfaces between construction, commissioning and operations teams.
  • Monitor safety, quality and schedule performance throughout execution.
  • Specific activities will include completion of the sealine connection, followed by hydrotesting and the final leak test.

Requirements

  • Extensive mechanical commissioning experience within offshore oil & gas or major energy projects.
  • Experience commissioning rotating equipment, static equipment, utilities and process systems.
  • Strong understanding of offshore platform operations and start-up programmes.
  • Proven experience supervising contractor workforces in a commissioning environment.
  • Excellent stakeholder coordination and problem-solving skills.
