Offshore Sales Engineer
As an Offshore Sales Engineer, your mission is to accelerate the growth of Atlas Copco Specialty Rental's offshore business across the Offshore energy market by building trusted customer relationships and identifying opportunities where our specialist rental solutions create value for customers.
You will act as the link between our customers and Atlas Copco Specialty Rental's experienced technical, operational, and project teams, helping customers solve complex operational challenges through safe, reliable, and efficient temporary and long-term utility solutions.
Your primary focus will be to drive growth within our strategic product portfolio, including:
- High Pressure Air & Nitrogen Boosters
- Temporary Power Solutions
- Load Bank Applications
- Integrated Project Solutions
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in compiling and submitting tender bids alongside the sales team.
- Assist the sales team in complex projects from a technical aspect.
- Work with the sales team to increase market share within the offshore power sector.
- Take ownership of large-scale projects from a technical aspect from the moment it is won by the sales team to the end of the project.
- Provides product, service, or equipment technical and engineering information by answering questions and requests.
- Prepares cost estimates by studying P&ID, Project plans, and related customer documents; consulting with other professionals and technical personnel within Atlas Copco Rental.
- Determines improvements by analyzing cost-benefit ratios of equipment, supplies, or service applications in customer environment; engineering or proposing changes in equipment, processes, or use of materials or services.
- Gains customer acceptance by explaining or demonstrating cost reductions and operations improvements.
- Submits orders by conferring with technical support staff; costing engineering changes.
- Complies with local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; advising customer on product, service, or equipment adherence to requirements; advising customer on needed actions.
- Attend customer meetings alongside the sales team to support with technical queries.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
- Contributes to sales engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing directives.

To succeed, you will need
Essential
- Relevant commercial, technical, or operational experience within the offshore energy industry.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Experience identifying, developing, and closing business opportunities.
- Strong understanding of consultative or technical sales.
- Ability to understand customer processes and translate requirements into practical solutions.
- Commercial awareness, including an understanding of pricing, costs, margins, and contractual considerations.
- Ability to explain technical subjects clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within an experienced team.
- Ability to collaborate across countries, business areas, and different sales responsibilities.
- Full UK driving license.
Desirable
- Knowledge of oil and gas, offshore wind, decommissioning, or offshore service markets.
- Understanding of compressed air, nitrogen, high-pressure booster, or temporary power systems.
- Experience reviewing technical documentation, project plans, specifications, or P&IDs.
- Experience with formal tenders, framework agreements, or complex customer proposals.
- Engineering, technical, or commercially relevant degree, qualification, or equivalent industry experience.
