Offshore Survey Engineer

As an Offshore Survey Engineer with Ashtead Technology, you'll be responsible for the installation, operation, and maintenance of specialist survey and inspection equipment on customer vessels and offshore sites around the world. Acting as the on-site technical expert, you'll ensure equipment performs reliably throughout each project, providing first-line troubleshooting and support to help deliver safe, efficient, and successful offshore operations.

Working closely with clients and project teams, you'll play a key role in maintaining operational performance while representing Ashtead Technology to the highest professional standards.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Install, integrate, and commission Ashtead Technology and customer-owned survey equipment on offshore vessels and client sites.
  • Operate, monitor, and maintain deployed equipment throughout offshore projects, ensuring optimum performance.
  • Diagnose technical faults, carry out first-line repairs where possible, and coordinate with Ashtead Technology's global workshops for additional technical support when required.
  • Ensure all deployed equipment is operated and maintained in accordance with manufacturer recommendations, project requirements, and company procedures.
  • Monitor and track deployed assets, maintaining accurate records of equipment configurations, maintenance activities, and any system changes made offshore.
  • Ensure equipment is stored, handled, and maintained correctly while deployed to maximize reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Prepare equipment for demobilisation, ensuring it is packaged appropriately for transport and that any damage or defects are accurately reported.
  • Deliver excellent customer service by acting as the primary on-site technical representative for Ashtead Technology and building strong working relationships with clients.
  • Complete project documentation, including timesheets, technical reports, and expense claims, accurately and promptly following each mobilisation.

What Experience You'll Bring

  • Demonstrable previous experience in an Offshore Survey Engineer role.
  • Qualification in Electrical/Electronics/Engineering Systems.
  • Previous experience working offshore & current offshore survival accreditation including valid medical.
