The Old Mill Foundation provides physical and emotional support for people affected by and living with cancer and includes those diagnosed with cancer and their carers who often also need support.
Charity Manager
Hours: 24 hours per week (Flexible working hours are available)
Salary: 30k-32k pro-rata depending on experience.
Location: Gowerton, Swansea

The Old Mill Foundation is looking for an enthusiastic, organized and motivated Charity Manager to join their small well established local cancer support charity at an exciting time in their journey.
For many years, the charity has provided vital support to people living with and beyond cancer, as well as their families. Over the past 18 months they have expanded their services to include a welcoming plant based café, charity shop and health shop, creating new opportunities to support their community, promote wellbeing and generate income to sustain their work.
About The Role
This is a rewarding and varied role where you will lead the day-to-day operations of the charity, support the development of new projects, work alongside dedicated staff and volunteers and help drive the charity's continued growth and impact.
You will be joining a small excellent, enthusiastic and caring team of staff supported by a large group of volunteers who are all committed to making a positive difference in the lives of others.
The position is supported by the following roles who you will supervise in their delivery;
- Old Mill Foundation's two Shop Managers in their role ensuring the smooth running of the charity shop and café and supervision of volunteers recruited for these areas.
- Their Centre Managers in charge of client care and liaising with Volunteer Therapists.
- Their Finance Officer who takes care of the day to day financial record keeping.
- Their Marketing officer.
In addition you will be responsible for maintaining an overview of the charity finances collaborating with Trustee finance sub committee to ensure the charity remains solvent and is able to cover its ongoing running costs. This will involve maintaining and developing fundraising activities, exploiting new funding opportunities and grant applications.
You will also be maintaining and expanding the profile of the Old Mill through networking, events, talks and demonstrations.
About You
They are looking for someone who:
- Is enthusiastic, organized and self-motivated.
- Has excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Has experience in project management, the charity sector or community development.
- Enjoys working collaboratively with staff, volunteers and the wider community.
- Has a knowledge of complimentary therapies and shares a passion for supporting those affected by cancer.
