OMB Partner (Advisory)

Location: Cardiff

Salary: £130,000-£160,000 + Equity

A successful independent firm is looking for an OMB Partner to take genuine ownership of a substantial owner-managed business portfolio and play a leading role in shaping the firm's next stage of growth.

The firm is already one of the strongest performers in its region, highly profitable and continuing to invest heavily in people. This is a partner-track opportunity for someone who wants to build a real stake in a business rather than simply manage a portfolio.

Role Overview

This role is heavily advisory in nature. You won't be buried in compliance, you'll be the senior voice owner-managers turn to when the answer isn't straightforward.

Where You'll Add Value

  • Acting as lead adviser to owner-managers and their leadership teams on complex, high-value matters
  • Taking full ownership of a substantial OMB portfolio, including entrepreneurial start-ups, growing owner-managed companies and established businesses
  • Leading advisory-led engagements, from restructuring and succession to growth planning
  • Building and winning new OMB work from existing and prospective clients
  • Coaching and developing managers, with real input into succession planning across the team
  • Sitting at the leadership table, helping steer the firm's OMB strategy and wider growth

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
