Department
Sapphire Utility Solutions, a Lanes Group Company, specializes in multiple divisions. United Utilities operates across numerous contracts across our business, predominantly wastewater network services as part of the AMP 7 period plan.
The Team supports reactive and planned maintenance across the CCTV & Jetting and Civils teams, further supported by our in-house Traffic Management Division and Capital Projects covering the entire UU network.
Purpose of the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing and established company. You will be working reactively across the North West attending emergency call-out jobs for United Utilities, on either a JHL Recycler or a JHL CityFlex. A HGV class 2 is required, and experience of jetting is essential. Training can be provided to a successful candidate.
This position requires candidates to be on call for shifts six days a week. Applicants will receive one paid rest day each week. The on-call shift is from 16:00 PM to 02:00 AM each day. During this time, successful applicants must be able to drive to the depot and collect the vehicle. Applicants will be paid 70 hours per week (inclusive of one paid rest day).

Key Responsibilities
- Investigating any works that need to be conducted
- Assessing any issues and putting a resolution in place
- Use of Jetting machinery to conduct works to ensure safety of public
- Covering works across the United Utilities network across the North West
- Attending to customers, informing them of works to be carried out and answering any concerns as well as timescales
- Inspecting drainage systems to identify blockages, leaks, or damage that could hinder water flow
- Carrying out all aspects of high-pressure water jetting
- Operating high-pressure water jetting equipment to clean and clear blockages in drains, sewers, pipes, and other wastewater systems
- Carrying out CCTV inspections where required to assess the condition of underground pipes and sewers
- Competent in using an electronic device - laptop/tablet for data entry purposes
- Ensuring safety issues are reported in line with company procedures
- Performing routine maintenance and servicing of high-pressure water jetting equipment to ensure it is in proper working order
