On-Call Support Worker
We’re looking for a calm, reliable, and caring person to join our team as an On-Call Support Worker in this flexible, home-based role, assisting our care team and clients outside of standard working hours.
You don’t need to be sat at a desk—you can work from home or locally (within 10 miles of our office area), but you must be contactable and ready to answer calls when they come through.
This role suits someone who enjoys responsibility, problem-solving, and supporting others, but also values flexibility and independence.
Pay & Allowance
- £100 per week on-call allowance (covers availability across the rota)
- £12.71 per hour for any active work (calls, scheduling, emergency visits)
- Mileage paid for any in-field emergency visits
What the Role Involves
During your shifts, you’ll be the first point of contact for:
- CareAngels needing support or guidance
- Clients or family members with queries or concerns
- Urgent scheduling issues (e.g., sickness, delays, last-minute changes)
- Accurate information logging into our systems
- Liaising with the Registered Manager if escalation is required

Emergency In-Field Support
While primarily home-based, this role requires you to be a driver with access to your own car, as occasional in-field visits may include:
- Welfare checks
- Supporting a delayed or stuck carer
- Ensuring a client is not left without essential care
These situations happen rarely, but when they occur, you’ll act as the calm, capable professional to maintain client safety.
Working Pattern (Two-Week Rota)
Your shifts follow this repeating two-week pattern, averaging 33.5 hours of availability per week with a fair balance of work, flexibility, and rest days.
Week One
- Monday: 17:00–22:00 (5 hrs)
- Tuesday: 06:00–09:00 & 17:00–22:00 (8 hrs total)
- Wednesday: 06:00–09:00 (3 hrs)
- Thursday: Off
- Friday: 17:00–22:00 (5 hrs)
- Saturday: 06:00–22:00 (16 hrs)
- Sunday: 06:00–22:00 (16 hrs)
Week Two
- Monday: 06:00–09:00 (3 hrs)
- Tuesday: Off
- Wednesday: 17:00–22:00 (5 hrs)
- Thursday: 06:00–09:00 (3 hrs)
- Friday: 06:00–09:00 (3 hrs)
- Saturday & Sunday: Off
