Electrician

HMP Liverpool, L9 3DF
£30,866 – £36,135 + 15% shift allowance
39 hours per week
Sat–Thurs 07:45–16:45 | Fri 07:45–15:45
1 in 4 weekends (on rota, allowance paid)

The Job

We’re looking for an Electrician to join the team at HMP Liverpool — a steady, long-term role on a single site.
You’ll be carrying out maintenance and repairs across the prison, keeping systems safe and running properly.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Planned and reactive electrical maintenance
  • Fault finding and repairs
  • Like-for-like replacements and small works
  • Testing and inspections (BS7671)
  • Keeping systems safe and compliant
  • Working as part of a site team in a secure environment

What You’ll Need

  • Level 2 Electrical Installation
  • 18th Edition (or 17th with willingness to upgrade)
  • Experience in maintenance / FM / building services
  • Able to work independently and use initiative
  • Basic IT skills

Nice to have:

  • Fire alarm / CCTV experience
