Plumber
We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Plumber to join our team at HMP Frankland, Brasside, Durham (DH1 5YD).
Salary and Hours
- Salary: £30,866 - £36,135 per annum
- Hours: 39 hours per week
Working on a rota basis, shifts are scheduled between:
- Monday to Friday: 07:30 - 16:30
- Saturday and Sunday: 08:00 - 16:00
The role includes working 1 in 3 weekends, with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary.

What You Will Do
- Deliver planned and reactive plumbing maintenance to ensure facilities remain safe, compliant and operational.
- Diagnose and repair faults across a variety of plumbing systems and equipment.
- Carry out mains water supply repairs and system improvements.
- Conduct inspections, water sampling and risk assessments in line with regulatory requirements.
- Identify life-expired equipment and recommend appropriate remedial actions.
- Support the wider facilities team in maintaining high standards across the site.

What You Will Bring
- NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing and Heating (or equivalent).
- Proven experience in plumbing maintenance within a commercial or industrial environment.
- Knowledge of water hygiene regulations and Legionella compliance (desirable).
- Experience operating light plant equipment.
- A proactive approach to problem solving and fault finding.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
