Description
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Client MU Onboarding Team, a specialist team responsible for ensuring that all new joiners meet the rigorous compliance, security, and onboarding requirements necessary to support one of the UK's largest government accounts. The team is responsible for BPSS (pre-employment checks) compliance, right-to-work validation, DBS processing, onboarding governance, and ensuring resources are ready to start on time.
As an Onboarding Compliance Administrator, you will play a key role in safeguarding compliance standards, managing critical onboarding activities, and delivering a positive onboarding experience for new starters. Working within a fast-paced and highly regulated environment, you will collaborate with candidates, agencies, hiring managers, and internal stakeholders to ensure onboarding activities are completed accurately, compliantly, and within agreed service levels.
We are looking for proactive, resilient, and detail-oriented individuals who enjoy taking ownership of their workload, managing multiple priorities, and solving problems in a dynamic operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage onboarding cases from initiation through to completion, ensuring compliance and business requirements are met.
- Maintain compliance with BPSS (Baseline Personnel Security Standard), right-to-work, security, and onboarding requirements, ensuring all activities meet internal and client standards.
- Review, validate, and process onboarding documentation, including passports, visas, criminal record information, and employment references.
- Arrange and facilitate identity verification sessions with candidates and resources.
- Process criminal record checks (including DBS & DS) and other pre-employment screening activities.
- Accurately update onboarding and security systems, always ensuring data integrity and audit readiness.
- Process requests for accounts, equipment, and access permissions to support successful onboarding.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with candidates, recruitment agencies, hiring managers, project teams, and internal support functions.
- Identify onboarding risks, compliance concerns, and process issues, taking proactive action to resolve them and minimise delays.
- Manage multiple onboarding cases simultaneously while maintaining high levels of accuracy and meeting service level agreements.
- Handle confidential and sensitive information with the utmost professionalism and discretion.
- Produce reports, complete validation activities, and support compliance monitoring as required.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, controls, and the onboarding experience.
- Support wider onboarding, compliance, and transformation projects as required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
