I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The next step is bringing in five coordinators who can carry that volume without dropping the detail. That is where you come in. You will own onboardings from initiation to completion and be the person clients trust to keep things moving.
The Role
You sit at the centre of every onboarding, coordinating between clients, suppliers, workers and internal teams to keep each case accurate, compliant and on time. You will work closely with the Client Services Manager and third-party background-check providers, and you will be trusted to give clients confident updates and push back when timelines are unrealistic.
What You Will Be Doing
- Managing onboarding requests from initiation through to completion
- Reviewing documentation and coordinating compliance and background-check requirements
- Maintaining accurate trackers and giving clients clear, confident progress updates
- Proactively chasing outstanding actions before they become delays
