Job Title: Locum Breast Care / Oncology Nurse

Location: Guildford, Surrey

Contract Type: Locum/Part-time

Rate: £30 per hour

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Locum Breast Care / Oncology Nurse to join a modern Breast Screening Service in Guildford, Surrey. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a supportive multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality breast screening, assessment and patient-centred care, while contributing to the early detection, diagnosis and ongoing support of women throughout their breast care journey. Paid shadow shifts to provide orientation on the Unit.

Key Requirements

  • Registered Adult Nurse with a current NMC registration.
  • Experience working within the NHS Breast Screening Programme (NHSBSP).
  • Good understanding of the breast screening and diagnostic pathway.
  • Experience supporting patients through sensitive conversations and delivering compassionate emotional support.
  • Previous experience working within multidisciplinary breast care or oncology teams.
  • Sound understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding, data protection and clinical governance principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist nursing care and support to women attending breast screening, assessment and results clinics.
  • Deliver compassionate emotional, psychological and practical support to patients and their families throughout the screening and diagnostic pathway, including supporting women receiving breast cancer diagnoses or benign results.
  • Assist consultants and advanced practitioners during breast assessment clinics while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver outstanding patient-centred care.
