An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time, 12 month fixed term position to join the Oncology Day Unit at Hexham General Hospital.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who has an interest in the Oncology speciality. The successful applicant will be working within a highly motivated, friendly team who will be delivering high quality standards of care.

This post will be working to supporting the existing team in the safe delivery of holistic care to a wide range of cancer patients undergoing day patients treatments.

Under the direction of the unit manager and senior staff, provide high standards of evidence based, quality, holistic, nurse-led care to a wide variety of cancer patients and their carers.

With appropriate training and support safely administer a wide range of cytotoxic chemotherapy drugs and supportive care to patients.

To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust. This means demonstrating a consistent leadership style which:

We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our state-of-the-art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England. We also care for people in their homes and provide services from facilities in local communities such as health centres. We give people greater choice and control over their care to help them to live independently at home and avoid hospital admission where appropriate.
