Our client, a renowned educational institution in the heart of Leeds, West Yorkshire, is seeking a dedicated and skilled teaching assistant to provide individualised support to students with diverse learning needs. In this pivotal role, you will have the chance to work closely with students, helping them to unlock their full potential and achieve their academic goals.
As a One-to-One Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for providing tailored support and guidance to students, ensuring they receive the personalised attention they require to thrive. Your role will involve working closely with classroom teachers, developing and implementing targeted learning strategies, and collaborating with other professionals to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Salary: £21,257 - £23,232 per annum
Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one support and assistance to students with learning difficulties, special educational needs, or other specific requirements
- Work closely with classroom teachers to identify students' unique learning needs and develop personalised learning plans
- Implement a variety of instructional techniques and teaching methods to engage and motivate students
- Monitor student progress, provide regular feedback, and make adjustments to learning plans as necessary
- Assist students with organisation, time management, and study skills to help them achieve their academic goals
- Collaborate with other professionals, such as educational psychologists, speech and language therapists, and occupational therapists, to ensure a holistic approach to student support
- Maintain detailed records and documentation of student progress and interventions
- Participate in professional development opportunities to continuously enhance your skills and knowledge

Qualifications And Experience
- Relevant educational qualification, such as a degree in Education, Teaching, or a related field
- Experience working as a teaching assistant or in a similar role, preferably in a one-to-one or small group setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to think creatively and adapt to the unique needs of each student
- Familiarity with assistive technologies and other educational resources that can support student learning
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational and personal growth of young learners
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and a willingness to learn and grow alongside the students you support
