We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate One-to-One Teaching Assistant to join the team at Martha H School in Wigan.

The Role
As a One-to-One Teaching Assistant, you'll provide dedicated support to an individual pupil or a small group of up to six pupils, helping them engage with learning and achieve positive outcomes.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Providing tailored one-to-one and small-group support
- Supporting teachers with lesson delivery and classroom activities
- Assisting with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
- Monitoring pupil progress and sharing updates with teaching staff
- Building positive, trusting relationships that promote confidence, engagement, and independence
- Supporting pupils during breaktimes, educational visits, and extracurricular activities
- Supervising learning activities and assisting with marking where appropriate
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to ensure each pupil receives the support they need
About You
We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic, patient, and committed to making a positive difference.
You'll Ideally Have
- A good standard of education, ideally to A-Level, including GCSE English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above, or equivalent)
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar support role
- Experience supporting pupils with SEMH or additional needs within an educational setting
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships
- Confidence to take responsibility for an additional area of school life, such as Forest School, Food Hygiene, lunchtimes, or enrichment activities
- Good IT skills and strong communication skills
- A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
- A willingness to complete an Enhanced DBS check before starting employment
