As a Product Designer, you will create clear, engaging, and accessible digital experiences that meet the needs of our customers while supporting Superdrug’s commercial and digital objectives. You will own defined product design projects from understanding the problem through exploration, design, validation, handover, and implementation, combining strong UX, UI, and interaction design skills with a high level of craft. You will work closely with the UX & Optimisation Manager, Developers, Business Analysts, Product teams, Trading, Analytics, and other stakeholders to deliver polished, scalable, and development-ready experiences across our website and mobile app.

As a Product Designer, you will:

  • Create clear, engaging, and accessible digital experiences that meet the needs of our customers while supporting Superdrug’s commercial and digital objectives.
  • Own defined product design projects from understanding the problem through exploration, design, validation, handover, and implementation.
  • Combine strong UX, UI, and interaction design skills with a high level of craft.
  • Work closely with the UX & Optimisation Manager, Developers, Business Analysts, Product teams, Trading, Analytics, and other stakeholders.
  • Deliver polished, scalable, and development-ready experiences across our website and mobile app.

📝 Key Responsibilities

  • Owning defined product design projects from problem understanding through to design, validation, and implementation.
  • Translating customer needs, business requirements, and insight into user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs.
  • Designing polished and responsive experiences across web and app, considering hierarchy, interaction states, edge cases, and accessibility.
  • Creating and refining reusable components, patterns, and variants as part of Superdrug’s digital design system, improving consistency and scalability across journeys.
  • Preparing clear, development-ready designs that communicate responsive behavior, component usage, interactions, and key requirements.
  • Collaborating closely with Developers, Business Analysts, Product teams, and other stakeholders throughout delivery to resolve design challenges and ensure solutions are implemented effectively.
  • Reviewing implemented experiences and supporting design QA to maintain a high level of quality in what reaches customers.
  • Using customer research, usability testing, competitor analysis, analytics, and behavioral insight to inform design decisions and identify optimization opportunities.
  • Presenting design work, explaining design decisions, and contributing to workshops and cross-functional discussions.
  • Managing multiple design projects and priorities while delivering work to agreed timelines.
  • Customer Focus: Be the voice of customers and orchestrate the organization to live the brand purpose and inspire a customer-first culture to build customer love in every touchpoint of our online and offline platform.
  • Tech & AI: Helping your team understand when to use AI, when to rely on human judgment, and how to combine both.

  • You are passionate about Product Design and enjoy turning customer and business problems into well-crafted digital experiences.
  • You have a portfolio that demonstrates strong UX thinking, UI, and interaction design, and examples of work taken from problem definition through to implementation.
  • You have a strong eye for visual detail and care about hierarchy, spacing, responsive behavior, interaction states, and overall design quality.
  • You are comfortable taking ownership of projects, making day-to-day design decisions, and progressing work independently while knowing when to seek input.
  • You think beyond individual screens and consider the wider customer journey, reusable patterns, and how your work fits within a broader digital experience.
  • You are collaborative, customer-focused, and comfortable balancing customer needs, commercial objectives, technical constraints, and delivery requirements.
  • Ensures the team prioritizes actions which delight the customer/team member.
  • Can manage tough/complex messages with all stakeholders.

🛠️ What you’ll need:

  • Experience designing and delivering customer-facing digital products, supported by a strong Product Design or UX/UI portfolio.
  • Strong UI and interaction design skills, including wireframing, prototyping, and high-fidelity interface design.
  • Experience designing responsive experiences across web and mobile.
  • Advanced proficiency in Figma, including components, variants, variables, and well-structured reusable design patterns.
  • Experience working with or contributing to a design system or component library.
  • Experience preparing development-ready designs and collaborating directly with Developers through implementation.
  • Understanding of accessibility and inclusive design principles, including familiarity with WCAG guidelines.
  • Experience using customer research, usability testing, analytics, or behavioral insight to inform design decisions.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills, with the ability to independently manage defined projects and multiple priorities.
  • Experience within eCommerce, retail, marketplaces, travel, or another high-traffic customer-facing digital environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
  • Experience with native apps, experimentation, A/B testing, conversion optimization, or tools such as UserTesting, Quantum Metric, GA4, or similar would be advantageous.
