Role Description

We are looking for Online GCSE English Tutors or in person - London, United Kingdom. The tutor will plan and deliver engaging lessons that cover the GCSE English curriculum, including literature and language, to small groups or individual students.

Daily Responsibilities include:

  • Assessing student performance
  • Setting clear learning objectives
  • Preparing resources
  • Providing targeted feedback to support improvement

The role involves:

  • Monitoring progress
  • Communicating regularly with parents or guardians
  • Maintaining accurate records of student achievements

The tutor will collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to a supportive, professional learning environment.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong English Teaching and Tutoring skills, with experience supporting learners at GCSE level.
  • Candidates should possess English Grammar and Communication skills to explain complex concepts clearly and build student confidence.
  • Candidates should possess Online Tutoring skills, as familiarity with digital tools and platforms may be beneficial for blended learning or homework support.
  • Candidates should possess excellent classroom management, lesson planning, and student assessment skills.
  • Relevant teaching qualifications (such as a degree in English or Education, PGCE, or equivalent) are highly desirable but not essential.
  • Experience working with diverse learners, including those with different learning needs and backgrounds, is beneficial.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, maintain professional boundaries, and follow safeguarding and school policies is required.
  • Ideal candidates will at least have a strong GCSE and A Level grades in English Literature and experience tutoring English.
