Reporting directly to the Head of Compliance, the successful candidate will partner closely with legal, commercial, operations, and risk teams to strengthen compliance governance, mitigate regulatory risks, and promote a culture of accountability across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation and ongoing enhancement of the European compliance and product safety programme across both food and non-food product categories.
- Assist in developing compliance policies, procedures, monitoring frameworks, and governance structures aligned with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with key stakeholders across Legal, Operations, Commercial, Supply Chain, and Product teams to ensure compliance considerations are embedded into business decision-making.
- Monitor regulatory developments across the UK and Europe, assessing potential business impacts and recommending practical solutions.
- Conduct compliance risk assessments and support the design and implementation of controls to mitigate identified risks.
- Coordinate compliance reporting and provide regular updates to senior leadership on key risks, trends, incidents, and remediation activities.
- Support product safety and consumer protection initiatives, including investigations, corrective actions, and regulatory engagement where required.
- Deliver compliance training and awareness programmes to strengthen understanding of regulatory responsibilities across the business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
