Join our global team as an Online AP Chinese Teacher and work with motivated students from around the world in live, personalised online lessons. You’ll support students in developing advanced Chinese language proficiency and preparing successfully for the AP Chinese Language and Culture course and examination.
Class Availability
The current class is based in the America/Boise time zone (Mountain Time) and is available during the following windows:
- Monday: 7:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Tuesday: 7:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Wednesday: 7:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Thursday: 7:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Friday: 7:00 PM – 9:30 AM
- Friday: 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Applicants must be able to teach within at least one suitable recurring window above.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality live lessons in AP Chinese Language and Culture, tailored to individual student needs.
- Prepare students for the AP Chinese examination, including listening, reading, speaking, writing and cultural competency.
- Use a range of teaching strategies and digital tools to create an interactive and supportive online learning environment.
- Assess student progress, provide targeted feedback, and adapt teaching approaches to support strong academic outcomes.
- Plan and communicate clear course schedules, including lesson content and assessment timelines.
- Set meaningful homework and design and administer appropriate assessments.
- Develop high-quality educational materials and contribute to CGA’s learning resources.
- Maintain a professional and well-organised online classroom and learning environment.

Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years’ teaching experience in a school setting (please note that, while valuable, tutoring experience cannot be counted towards this requirement).
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chinese, Languages, Education, Linguistics or a related field.
- High proficiency in Mandarin Chinese.
- Strong understanding of Chinese language instruction across reading, writing, listening and speaking.
- Exceptional communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents and the CGA team.
- Familiarity with online teaching platforms and a passion for innovative, technology-enabled education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience teaching AP Chinese Language and Culture or preparing students for the AP Chinese examination.
- Strong knowledge of the US/AP curriculum and College Board AP Chinese requirements.
- A recognised teaching qualification, such as a postgraduate certificate in education, teaching degree or teaching licence.
- Previous online teaching experience.
