Role Description

The Online Tutor role at SealTutors is a remote position focused on delivering high-quality, personalized online lessons to students through the company’s digital platform. Day-to-day tasks include:

The tutor will use platform tools to:

  • Track performance
  • Adapt teaching strategies
  • Maintain organized lesson notes and schedules

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining professional and timely communication with students and caregivers
  • Adhering to academic standards and agency guidelines
  • Participating in occasional training or professional development sessions as required

Qualifications

  • Strong subject-matter expertise in one or more academic areas, with the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear, accessible way.
  • Demonstrated online teaching or tutoring experience, including lesson planning, assessment, and providing individualized support.
  • Proficiency with digital tools and online learning platforms, and confidence in using video conferencing, interactive whiteboards, and shared documents.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a learner-centered approach and the ability to build rapport with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Effective time management, reliability, and organizational skills to manage schedules, lesson preparation, and student records.
  • A commitment to evidence-based teaching practices and openness to ongoing training and professional development.
  • A relevant degree, teaching qualification, or equivalent experience in education or a related field is highly beneficial.
  • Secure, quiet workspace, stable high-speed internet connection, and suitable hardware for remote tutoring.
