CLIENT REPRESENTATIVE – SITE MANAGER (CLIENT SIDE) - SOLAR FARM - SOLAR PV (YORKSHIRE)

Location: Yorkshire
Contract: Freelance / Contract
Duration: 15 months
Sector: Renewable Energy – Utility Scale Solar PV

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Client Representative to oversee the construction of a major utility-scale Solar PV development in Yorkshire. Working directly for the project owner, you will act as the client's eyes and ears on site, ensuring the EPC contractor delivers the project safely, to the required quality standards and in accordance with the contract. This role will suit someone who enjoys being present on site, proactively managing contractor performance and providing accurate reporting to the wider project team.

The Yorkshire scheme represents the largest project within the client's current UK pipeline and will play a key role in their expanding renewable energy portfolio.

  • Act as the client's on-site representative throughout the construction phase.
  • Monitor EPC contractor performance across safety, quality, programme and technical delivery.
  • Carry out regular site inspections to ensure works are being completed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications and industry standards.
  • Challenge contractors where required to ensure appropriate quality and HSE standards are maintained.
  • Verify progress against programme and provide accurate updates to the project management team.
  • Review contractor activities and support the assessment of progress claims and variations through factual site reporting.
  • Produce daily and weekly construction reports highlighting progress, risks and key site activities.
  • Attend site meetings and coordinate with project stakeholders.
  • Identify construction risks, potential delays and quality concerns before they impact project delivery.
  • Support commercial discussions by providing accurate site-based information.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working on utility-scale renewable energy construction projects.
  • Strong site-based construction background within Solar PV is preferred.
  • Candidates with wider renewable energy experience including BESS, Wind or HV infrastructure will also be considered.
  • Previous client-side experience is advantageous, although individuals with a strong EPC construction background looking to transition client-side are encouraged to apply.
  • Confident managing contractor performance and holding subcontractors accountable.
  • Strong understanding of construction quality assurance, HSE requirements and project delivery.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Willingness to be site-based throughout project delivery.
