Job Title: Onsite Support Engineer

Location: Southampton

Duration: Six months initial, with potential for extension

Rate: Up to £200 per day via an approved umbrella company

Shift Pattern: Mon to Fri (Site Cover from 08:00 - 18:00; 8hr shift to include 30 min break)

If you enjoy being the go-to technical support person on site and you thrive in a client-facing environment you'll feel right at home here. Hiring for a reputed client, this is a hands-on contract role at their R&D Head Office in Southampton, supporting a global account where your impact is visible every day.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Manage fault calls, service requests, and planned changes within the IT support environment
  • Provide "Smart Hands" support across on-site infrastructure needs
  • Support and help operate the BAT "TechDeck", including:
    • PC/Laptop builds
    • OS configuration and setting up devices
    • Active Directory administration
    • Some hardware repair
  • Tackle complex cases end-to-end, taking ownership from start to finish
  • Build strong working relationships with end users, including VIP/Executives/Senior Management and their support teams
  • Complete documentation and maintain accurate records
  • Work closely to deliver deskside support across the site coverage window

What You'll Bring

  • Confidence communicating with people at all levels and representing the client experience professionally
  • Strong organisational and admin skills, with excellent attention to detail
  • Solid deskside support capability
  • Experience using service/support tooling such as S-NOW (or comparable workflows)
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 and Windows 11 environments
  • Asset management experience, with a process-driven approach
  • Comfortable producing clear documentation as part of your day-to-day work
  • A willingness to learn AV support (desirable)
