This is an exciting new opportunity for a suitably qualified Re-investigation Manager to act as the Lead Investigating officer for Operation Beaconport. They will manage and oversee re-investigation requests and work within the Major Crime Unit Complex Child Sexual Exploitation Team.
Operation Beaconport is the high-profile national policing response to review previously filed group-based child sexual abuse crimes investigated between 2010-2025 to consider if any should potentially be re-investigated. The Re-Investigation Manager will devise effective process and then oversee the investigative and partnership response for any reinvestigations we are asked to undertake by the national Op Beaconport team. They will supervise staff, make policy decisions to set the re-investigation parameters and provide assurance to senior TVP managers and national stakeholders about the delivery of Op Beaconport.
The successful candidate will be a qualified PIP2 investigator with a strong track record of acting as Lead Investigating Officer (LIO) and tackling child-centred complex and serious offences. They should be SCAIDP trained and be experienced in the requirements of Working Together 2026 and the National Operating Model to deliver a trauma-informed and victim centred approach. They will be used to making appropriate decisions that are subject to significant senior and national scrutiny.

If the secondment is not supported then the role may be offered on a fixed term contract basis, but this has implications including loss of continuous service protections.
