Role: Open Source Software Developer (Remote)

Location: Remote (Work from Anywhere)
Job Type: Contract
Payout: $50 - $150/hour

Role Overview:

We are hiring for one of our clients, seeking a GitHub Contributor to work on a contract basis. Responsibilities include maintaining active GitHub contributions, reviewing pull requests, and collaborating with engineering teams to improve code quality. The role requires consistent engagement with open-source projects and repositories relevant to the client’s technical stack.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and merge pull requests in GitHub repositories to ensure code meets quality standards.
  • Contribute to open-source projects by fixing bugs, adding features, or optimizing performance.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to align contributions with project roadmaps and technical requirements.
  • Monitor repository activity, address issues, and maintain documentation for contributors.
  • Provide feedback on code reviews to improve maintainability, security, and scalability.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Git and GitHub workflows, including branching, merging, and pull requests.
  • Experience contributing to open-source projects or maintaining public repositories.
  • Strong understanding of version control systems and collaborative software development.
  • Ability to write, debug, and optimize code in relevant programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Java, C++).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
